Credit Cards Written Off. Truth or Scam?

credit cards Written Off. Truth or Scam?

The Background to the New Unenforceable Agreement Claims Industry

According to the Claims Management Industry, about 50 million credit Agreements are signed in the UK each year. It is believed that tens of millions of credit agreements could be discovered to be unenforceable. Some research suggests that lenders may have issued over 20 million credit agreements in the UK, ranging from credit card agreements to secured and unsecured loans, which are likely to be in breach of the 1974 consumer credit Act, They may be considered improperly executed and therefore 'unenforceable'.

If your Credit Agreements are audited as being unenforceable what does it mean for you?

Many consumers are now enjoying the success of freeing themselves from debt, by instigating claims against the lenders who have effectively used the consumer to make billion of pounds through irresponsible lending- 9 billion alone this year in interest and fees according to news reports.

Unenforceable agreement - a contract between two parties which due to irregularities and breaches of prescribed terms under the UK 1974 consumer credit Act legislation is unenforceable by the lender or the Court. The lender is unable to force you to pay the debt back. They do not have the right to sell the debt on to a debt collect or third party. Many UK consumers are starting to realise the true extent of their consumer rights and are now sick of the debt based society we are forced to live in.

Thousands of consumers are challenging the lawfulness of their Finance agreements to establish whether they are unenforceable because they are in breach of contract. A national debt advice organisation says its offices in some of the most affluent parts of the UK are being overwhelmed by demands for help.

Where a borrower's credit agreement is declared improperly executed or 'unenforceable', experts advise that you should continue to make your contractual payments until such time as the claim has been resolved and once your claim has gone through your credit file will be in tact. As a result of a successful claim the following may happen; -

* The loan is written off by the lender leaving a zero balance achieved.

* Your credit file will show the credit agreement as either 'settled in FULL' and may have a correction notice added, or the account insert may be removed altogether. You will have to push for this though.

Many, many people have successfully pursued their creditors and have had thousands of pounds worth of debt written off. If you are uncertain about your own credit agreements you should seek specialist advice from an adviser registered with the UK Ministry of Justice.

A New Kind Of Patriotism

No matter who you voted for in the last election, or even who your parents voted for in past elections, we are all still American citizens today and will be tomorrow.

We are all American citizens.

That statement means something different to each and every one of us who call these great United States of America our home. We are all different in some ways while we are so similar in our love of our country and its’ emblems like our anthems and flags. It is imperative that we reunite under our common flag, sing our anthems and get back to being the best and most respected country in the world.

Take a look around the world. Even in countries that would do us harm, there are individuals who want what we have. They sense our freedoms and our liberties. These people envy what we take for granted. Are we willing to throw away what we have because we are divided along political lines?

What we need to do now is concentrate on a new kind of patriotism.

“A new kind of patriotism” What does that mean? Perhaps it is time that the citizens of our great country agree to put our differences aside for the good of the country. We need to forge a common view of where American is heading. It is up to us to work for an American that we can all feel proud of.

What will be our legacy? History has seen us as a kind and generous nation. Strength and prosperity are required for us to afford the luxury of kindness and generosity. To maintain this strength and prosperity, we will have to unite and become one nation again. The backbone of this unification will be our patriotism.

Our patriotism has always been strong. It has fortified us in many battles both military and spiritual. Our founding fathers knew what patriotism was. It has always been a great insult to question publicly another mans patriotism. We must look deep inside of ourselves to raise a new kind of patriotic feeling that all Americans can feel as one. A patriotism that Americans will once again hold high and question only in the darkest of times and situation.

Who knows where patriotism grows?

Our next battleground will require some new heroes and heroines to show themselves. Each and every one of us has the power to effect change in those around us. A simple display of your American pride may not convince someone to change his or her convictions but it may very well plant the seed that blossoms week or months later. Our troops know where patriotism grows. It grows in every hard fought battle for liberty and justice. It casts a shadow on every country that we help around the world. Our troops know it. Shouldn’t we?

How do you show your American pride?

We should not feel ashamed of our love of country. We should feel free and comfortable to express it. Is that not the spirit of what America was founded upon?

American patriots display their pride in many different ways. Some patriots where red, white and blue. Some patriotic souls where old glory flag as pins, hats, t-shirts and even bake flag shaped cookies. The point is, if you feel patriotic pride then show it! It is not hard to find plenty of great patriotic gifts and patriotic gift ideas. There are many patriotic Web sites and store. Some of these Web sites even offer free patriotic stuff. Now that’s showing patriotic pride. What ever you do, showing your pride is just the first step. Sharing your pride is next. Try encouraging friends and neighbors to show their American patriotism by buying a bunch of American flag lapel pins and passing them out to everyone that you see in a day.

Others may not understand or approve your displaying pride. This will provide a great opportunity for the patriotic “bridge-building” that we so desperately need in this country. If someone gives you a hard time for wearing a star and stripes jacket or playing basketball with a red, white and blue, basketball, then just remind them that no matter who you voted for in the last election, or even who your parents voted for in past elections, we are all still American citizens today and will be tomorrow.

The Benefits of Applying Online for a Credit Card

The traditional approach of applying for credit cards through paper brochures has been replaced by a more efficient method: Applying Online.

Applying online for a credit card gives the consumer the advantage to compare offerings instantaneously. Whereas with a traditional brochure and unlike those pre-approved applications that annoyingly flood consumers’ mailboxes, applying online puts the consumer in the driver seat where they can dissect the perks and choose the card that best matches their needs.

With all of the various and distinctive offerings that credit card companies provide today, it’s most important for a consumer to choose a card that gives them the best purchasing power.

The new credit cards today are typically reward-based. However, not every credit card issuer provides the same rewards. If a consumer goes to a specific bank website, they will only be able to choose the cards that are issued by that bank.

To get the best credit card offerings, a consumer has to compare different credit cards from one central location.

To make the most of applying online, it is recommended that you take the following thoughts into consideration before applying:

1.) Decide what type of credit card you are looking for. Not all credit cards are the same today. There are reward credit cards, blink-enabled credit cards, business credit cards, retail cards, and prepaid credit cards, to name a few.

2.) Decide how you will use a credit card. Are you a frequent purchaser? If so, then look at reward-based credit cards. Are you planning on paying in full every month? If so, look for a credit card that has no annual fee.

3.) Do you travel a lot? There are many cards available that provide distinctive services – free of charge. Among other things, they include lost luggage coverage and auto rental insurance. Something to consider when choosing a card.

4.) Are you aware of your credit score? If you know that you have a fairly low credit score, then you can find comfort knowing that there are many solid secured credit cards available to help rebuild your credit.

5.) If you are a student, your best bet would typically apply online for a student credit card. These cards are specifically designed to look pass a typical student’s limited credit history while providing useful perks that could meet their collegiate needs.

Applying online for a credit card puts the consumer in an advantageous position. No longer are you obligated to wait for the best credit card offerings through the mail or take time-consuming trips to the bank. In most cases, you’ll even get an instant approval when applying online.

In a nutshell, applying online is faster, simpler, and gives the consumer more choices than was previously impossible before. Put yourself in the driver’s seat and apply online when you feel the need to get the best credit card.

Car Buying Tips: Don’t Get Ripped Off in the Finance Office

When the negotiations are done, most consumers relax when buying a car. The hard work is done. The hard sell is over. It's time to celebrate a victorious purchase of a new or used vehicle.

Most consumers don't realize that the true hard sell is just about to start.

In a perfect world, a finance manager, business manager, or whatever title is given to the person in the back that prepares paperwork will be just that: the person that prepares paperwork.

In the real world, the finance manager is probably one of the best and most persistent salespersons the consumer will ever meet.

They aren't necessarily bad people. Most are exceedingly friendly and professional, dressed to impress and possessing an easy way that puts people at ease. To a car dealership, the finance manager is the last and best chance the dealer has to make money on a vehicle sale.

There are dozens of methods that the finance manager can make money from you. The good part is that not all of the ways are bad and not all of the products that they will offer are rip offs. In most cases, though, some of the offerings are just not worth the money the consumer will pay.

Instead of going over the details of the different products and suites that aren't really worth it, here is a short list of items that a consumer should really question and investigate before purchasing:

Undercoating, paint sealant, oil change plans, VIN etching, scotch guard, preowned vehicle leasing, personal vehicle insurance, and tires for life.

There are others that are somewhat legitimate like the ones listed above, and there are some that are downright scams, but we're here to focus on the potentially good ones.

Dealerships such as Toledo Chevrolet Dealers and Portland Lincoln Mercury Dealers and other honest dealers around the country offer a basic, short list of products that consumers should consider:

GAP INSURANCE

Some call it a scam, but most who have totaled a vehicle with a lien on it can attest to the wonders of Gap Insurance. In essence, it covers the "gap" between what a vehicle is worth and how much is owed when a car is totaled. For example, if someone totals their vehicle and the insurance company agrees to pay $7,000 while the driver still owes $11,000, gap insurance is designed to cover it. Without gap, the insurance company will be forced to leave the remaining $4,000 to be paid out of the customer's pocket.

Usually ranging from $300-$700, it is a good investment for consumers who (1) finance vehicles without securing equity by putting a lot of money or trade equity down on the car, (2) drive more than 10k miles per year, and/or (3) purchase new vehicles, especially high dollar ones.

EXTENDED WARRANTIES

Not all warranties are created equal. A consumer who plans on keeping a vehicle beyond the factory warranty should strongly consider an extended one.

Research beforehand into some extended warranties available online for the vehicle you are considering. Know the cost, deductible, what is and isn't covered, and whether a prorated balance is refundable if the vehicle is traded, sold, or totaled.

Armed with this knowledge, it should be easier to get a good deal on a good warranty, whether it's the one that the finance manager offers or a separate one.

credit LIFE AND DISABILITY

Most life insurance policies are designed to help with cost of living. debt should not be paid through standard insurance.

In case of tragedy, having a credit life and disability plan will help to pay off the balance of a vehicle loan. There are few things worse after dealing with a tragedy than to find that the loved one also left major bills and debts behind.

Final Thoughts

Not all "bad" items are that bad. Some may fit into a consumer's needs. Not all "good" finance items are good, either. The key is to do the research before getting caught off guard by a finance manager ready to spray a $20 can of Scotch Guard in your new or used car for an additional $179.
